Q: What exactly do you mean by “on-site” pharmacy or “point-of-care” pharmacy?

A: It is a pharmacy embedded inside of a clinic, which allows patients to pick up their prescriptions immediately after their appointment with the physician.

Q: Why would I want on-site pharmacy in my clinic?

A: Having an on-site pharmacy in your clinic will offer the ultimate convenience for both the prescriber and the patient.

Q: How will an on-site pharmacy benefit my patients?

A: Patients will walk out of your clinic with their prescription in hand, offering the ultimate in convenience.

Q: Will I be asked to do anything?

A: All we ask is that you have the desire for  your patients to receive exceptional pharmacy service.

Q: Will I have any extra liability by having a pharmacy located in my clinic?

A: No additional liability will be assumed on your part. We are a fully licensed and independently insured pharmacy separate from your practice.

Q: Will an on-site pharmacy disrupt my current practice?

A: Not at all. If anything, it will make your practice more efficient since you will spend less time coordinating prescriptions.

Q: How much will it cost for me to have an on-site pharmacy?

A: There will be no cost to  you.  Rx Concepts will take care of all of the costs associated with the minimal space alteration (if needed.)  There will be no contracts or monthly/annual fees.  We will pay you for our presence in your clinic.

Q: How much space is needed to incorporate an in-house pharmacy in my clinic?

A: Although space requirements vary by state, typically the amount of space needed is approximately 125-320 sq ft.

Q: Who will staff the on-site pharmacy?

A: Rx Concepts handles all aspects of pharmacy operations, including the management of pharmacy personnel.

Q: How long will it take to set up an on-site pharmacy?

A: Once everything has been finalized we can have a pharmacy open in approximately 90-120 days, depending on the space alteration needed.

Q: Will I have immediate access to a pharmacist at all times?

A: Yes. We will be open when your clinic is open so you will have full access to a pharmacist during your business hours.

Q: How do on-site pharmacies help improve medication adherence?

A: You will know that your patients have at least picked up the medication you prescribed. Additionally, you will have peace of mind knowing any questions they might have about their prescription (side effects, allergies, prior authorizations, etc.) will be addressed.

Q: Do you take insurance? What if a patient does not have insurance?

A: We take all major insurances including Medicare and Medicaid. For  patients without insurance we offer a discount program to help reduce their out-of-pocket cost.

Q: What if the patient does not want to use the on-site pharmacy?

A: Your patients can still choose which pharmacy they want to use.  However, we believe that once the patients experience our customer service they will not want to go anywhere else.

Q: Will patients have to make an appointment to speak with a pharmacist?

A: No. Appointments will only be necessary if a patient wants an in-depth, one-on-one prescription consultation.

Q: What is MTM, or Medication Therapy Management?

A: Medication Therapy Management (MTM) are one-on-one, extended counseling sessions with patients. Services include: medication education, disease state education, medication reconciliation, medication review, drug interaction review, side effect explanation and expectation and adherence solutions. Additionally, we can review all prescriptions that a patient may have from all prescribers not just the medications you prescribe.
